NATIONAL

1. PM Modi Reviews Projects Worth ₹ 50,000 Crore At "Pragati" Meeting :. "Pragati" is an ICT-based multi-modal platform for pro-active governance and a timely implementation of projects, involving the Centre and the state governments.


2. Cabinet has approved continuation of Centrally Sponsored National Scheme for PM POSHAN in Schools for five more years  till 2025-26 with a  financial outlay of 54,062 crore rupees from the Central Government and 31,733 crore from State Governments and UT administrations. This will cover 11.80 crore children studying in 11.20 lakh schools.


3. The Cabinet  has also approved continuation of the National Export Insurance Account (NEIA) scheme and infusion of  1,650 crore Grant-in-Aid over five years. Capital infusion in NEIA Trust will help tap the huge potential of project exports in focus market.


4. Aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has instructed airlines and air navigation service providers to test their flight crew members and air traffic controllers for drugs, including cannabis and cocaine. The drug tests for specified aviation workers will begin from January 31 next year.


5. The remnants of Cyclone Gulab are likely to enter the Arabian Sea on Sep 30 and intensify into a cyclonic storm a day later and then move towards Pakistan, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. Many areas in Gujarat are likely to receive rainfall due to the remnants of Cyclone Gulab.

 

DEFENCE 

 1. Modernisation of Artillery to get delayed ; Indigenous ATAGS & Dhanush not ready for the Indian Army yet. The modernization plan of the Indian Army to procure indigenous 3,000-3,600 howitzers by 2025-27 have run into problems. Indian Army was planning to acquire Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS), and Dhanush, known as the ‘Desi Bofors’


2. Atmanirbhar Bharat in Defence: BrahMos gets airframe assemblies from Godrej Aerospace BrahMos Aerospace Pvt Ltd (BAPL) takes delivery of the 200th set of stealth universal supersonic cruise missile airframe assemblies from Godrej Aerospace.


3. The defence ministry  said it has decided to enhance the income criteria for grant of family pension to children and siblings suffering from mental or physical disability. At present, a disabled child or sibling of a deceased pensioner is eligible for family pension.


4. Indian and the Royal Australian Navy on Wednesday signed a ''Terms of Reference for the conduct of Navy-to-Navy talks between the two countries.


5. Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria,  CAS,  Chief of the Air Staff - retires on 30th September 2021.  Vice Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari as the next Chief of the Air Staff (CAS).


6. Indian Army JAG entry scheme registration begins. Applications are invited from unmarried male and unmarried female LAW GRADUATES for grant of Short Service Commission in the Indian Army for Judge Advocate General Branch.


Candidates must have minimum of 55% aggregate marks in LLB Degree (three years professional after graduation or five years after 10+2 examination). 

The candidates should be eligible for registration as an advocate with Bar Council of India/State.

Candidate should be from a College/University recognized by Bar Council of India. 

The age of the candidates should be between 21 and 27 years as on 01 Jan 2022.



✈ INTERNATIONAL NEWS 


1. American Airlines (AAL) announced a code-sharing agreement with India's largest airline IndiGo on 28 Sep, with the U.S. airline gearing up to launch new flights between the two countries.


2. SpiceJet To Restart B-737 Max Aircraft From October, Ending Ban Of Over 2 Years.


3. World's great philanthropist Bill Gates has congratulated Prime minister Narendra Modi on the national launch of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. Mr Gates said the digital health infrastructure will help ensure equitable, accessible health care delivery and accelerate progress on India's health goals.


4. Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal  said : the Dubai Expo 2020 will further strengthen India-UAE relations especially exports.


5. The Taliban-controlled Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has written to Indian aviation regulator DGCA to resume commercial flights between the countries.  The last commercial flight between India and Afghanistan was operated by Air India on Kabul-Delhi route on August 15, the day Kabul fell to the Taliban. Afghanistan airspace was declared "uncontrolled" by the CAA on August 16.

1. Japan’s former Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida has won the governing party leadership election and is set to be the next prime minister. Kishida replaces outgoing party leader Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga.


2. The United States is seeking more information on North Korea's recent testing, including its hypersonic missile test, but remains keen to resume diplomatic talks.


3. The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) of Bangladesh arrested the Chief Operating Officer and two other officials  of the e-commerce company Dhamaka  in Dhaka on 29 Sep on charges of cheating the customers and fraudulence.


4. Jihadist group killed six Sudanese intelligence officers.  The government had blamed the attack on militants from the Islamic State (IS) group. But a jihadist group calling itself the Movement for Preaching and Combat said it had killed the Sudanese officers and denied any links with IS.


5. In Afghanistan, the Taliban have asked the United States to stop operating drones in Afghan airspace, Terming the US move a breach of national security, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid asked all the nations to act in accordance with mutual obligations to prevent consequences.


6. North Korea has reportedly fired a short-range missile towards the sea off its east coast. Earlier this month Pyongyang has also test-fired both ballistic and cruise missiles. The test occurred as North Korea’s ambassador said at the UN that no-one could deny Pyongyang’s right to self-defence and to test weapons.


FACTS ABOUT INDIA 

 Hampi , a temple town in northern Karnataka, was once the capital of the historical Vijayanagara Dynasty. . The magnificence of the ruins of temples and other structures of Vijayanagar, dating back to 1500 AD, is the main attraction of this place. According to some accounts, Hampi used to be the second largest city of the world. Located on the bank of the Tungabhadra River, Hampi has quite a number of tourist attractions like Virupaksha Temple, Vithala Temple and Nandi Statue. It is best to visit Hampi during the three day long Hampi festival held around October-November every year.

She has also won gold in F-53/54 Javelin event at the para athletic grand Prix held in Dubai in 2018. She is currently the world number one in the F-53 category. She has won accolades for her participation in various adventure sports.
