1. President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday completed four years in office. He was sworn in as the 14th President of India on 25 July, 2017.
2. PM's monthly Mann Ki Baat: PM Modi pays tribute to Kargil martyrs, talks about Tokyo Olympics. PM stressed on 'Nation First, Always First' mantra, he said as the country enters its 75th year of Independence, every citizen should lead a "Bharat Jodo Andolan" in the same manner as Mahatma Gandhi had led the "Bharat Chhoro Andolan".
3. The Army, Navy, Air Force & NDRF rescued the people affected by floods in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa.
4. PM Modi has expressed grief over the accident caused by landslide near Basteri on Sangla-Chitkul road in Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh. The horrifying incident was reported around 2:15 pm 25 Jul (Sunday), a vehicle carrying 11 tourists was hit by the landslide, out of which 9 were killed and 2 were injured.
5. Himachal CM Jairam Thakur expressed his grief over the incident. Govt announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMs National Relief Fund will be given to the next of kin & Rs. 50 thousand to the injured.
6. In Karnataka, suspense continued on the possible change CM B S Yediyurappa saying a decision on whether he will continue in office or not will be known by 26 Jul (Monday).
7. CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Exam 2021 results, the CBSE would make an announcement regarding Class 10, 12 results date and time on Monday (July 26).
8. Nearly 1,000 police personnel have been deployed by Uttarakhand on different inter-state border points to stop the movement of Kanwarias Kanwar Yatra in Haridwar district due to COVID restrictions.
9. Kerala reports 17,466 new COVID 19 cases.

14. Indian Air Force Recruitment 2021: The Indian Air Force has invited applications to fill vacancies in various Group 'C' posts of IAF. The age limit for all posts is 18-25 years as per the notice given in the Employment Newspaper. Class 10, 12 pass & graduates are eligible for this job.
15. Territorial Army Recruitment 2021: The candidates who are interested can submit their applications from 20 July _ 19 August 2021 on its official website - jointerritorialarmy . gov . in.

1. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will arrive in New Delhi on 28 Jul (Wednesday). the aim of the visit is to reaffirm the US commitment to strengthening partnerships between the two countries and underscore cooperation on shared priorities.
2. Indian Railways' Oxygen Express arrives in Bangladesh on 25 Jul ( Sunday). The train had started on 24 Jul (Saturday) morning from Tatanagar station in Jharkhand under the South Central Railway.
3. Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Abdul Momen has expressed his condolences over the loss of lives and damage due to landslides caused by rains & floods in Maharashtra state.

Facts about India
Kargil Vijay Diwas , named after the successful Operation Vijay, is celebrated in India on 26 July. On this date in 1999 India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistan. The Kargil war was fought for more than 60 days, ended on 26 July and resulted in loss of life on both the sides. The war ended with India regaining control of all the previously held territory, hence re-establishing the the state existing before the war. Indian Army launched a daring assault at Zulu High in Muskoh Valley. Undaunted braveness and unflinching willpower of our troops led to profitable seize of the target.

Know Kargil War happened in 1999

During the summer of May-July 1999, the tedious Kargil War was fought between India and Pakistan. In May 1999, the Pakistan Army infiltrated into Indian territory in remote locations using subterfuge and captured several mountain tops overlooking the strategic Srinagar-Leh highway. When India sent a survey mission to confirm intrusions into India, five jawans were taken into captivity by the Pakistani Army, triggering an Indian Airforce attack 'Operation Vijay'.
For the first time in 20 years, India launched strikes against militants in Kashmir beginning 'Operation Vijay', promising to continue doing so till the last of the militants were evicted from the Indian soil in Kashmir. During the continuing airstrike, India lost two of its aircraft (MiG-27) with one pilot who had ejected being taken in as a prisoner of war by the Pakistan troops. Soon, Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee declares the Kargil situation - 'War-like situation', with IAF continuing its assault on suspected infiltrators holed up in the Himalayas with fresh airstrikes.
As Pakistan returned the mutilated bodies of six Indian soldiers, talks between India and Pakistan broke down while India continued its airstrikes. On July 26, the Indian Army recaptured all the Indian posts in Kargil which had been occupied by the Pakistani Army, a coup that was orchestrated by the then Pakistan army chief General Pervez Musharraf, while Sharif and US President Bill Clinton meet in Washington to take 'concrete steps will be taken' to restore the Line of Control.
Relenting to India's attacks, Sharif announces pull-out of Pakistani troops from Kargil and India declares ' Operation Vijay' a success - bringing an end to the war on July 26.

🔫Weapons such as cannons, shotguns and rifles, work on the basic idea of conservation of momentum and the change in energy from potential to kinetic.
All firearm uses the basic principles. First, the trigger is pulled, then causing a firing pin to strike the primer, the primer fire up the gunpowder and the flaming powder generates pressure, the pressure pushes the bullet down the barrel and out the muzzle.
When the trigger is pulled the hammer hits the firing pin. The firing pin then hits the primer which causes the powder to burn hence producing lots of gases.
The bullet is propelled through the barrel, it gains momentum. In order for the entire system of the gun and the ammunition to have equal momentum, the gun must gain momentum in the opposite direction from the bullet. (momentum = mass x velocity)
